Just a reminder that our next meeting of the Mavens of Mayhem (Upper Hudson SinC) is this Saturday, August 17th, at 10:30 am at the Bethlehem Public Library. Our speaker this month is Mary Hogencamp, who is a former NYS Trooper and will talk about her time with the State Police. I’m sure she has a lot of interesting stories to share.
Our writing prompt for August is:
It’s morning and you’re walking down the rain-soaked streets amid crowds of people who don’t hesitate to shove you out of the way to get where they are going. Suddenly you feel a tug on your arm and you’re pulled sideways until you come face-to-face with a man wearing a black hat and carrying an umbrella.
Why did he stop you?
If you choose to participate, write a scene or story (500-750 words max.) and be prepared to read it aloud (or have someone read it for you if you’re shy).
This is our last meeting before Bouchercon in September. I hope to see you there!
