From our president Betsy Bitner:
Just a reminder that the next meeting of the Upper Hudson Chapter of Sisters in Crime – the Mavens of Mayhem – is this Saturday, March 16th at 10:30 am at the Bethlehem Public Library (451 Delaware Ave., Delmar). We have a very exciting program lined up. In honor of Women’s History Month, Warren County District Attorney Kate Hogan, who was named NYS Prosecutor of the Year in 2012, will speak about women and the law.
Our writing prompt for March is:
You are helping out at a charitable center by organizing donated items. When searching through an old suitcase, you find a suicide note dated six months prior. What’s peculiar is that you know the person. What’s even more peculiar is that the person is still alive. Write the story about what happens when you pay that person a visit and ask him or her about the note. From Writer’s Digest Creative Writing Prompts.
Write a scene/story of 500-750 words and be prepared to read it to the group (or have someone read it for you if you’re shy).
Also, we will be discussing having an artist design a new logo for us. Here is her website if you want to check out her work: http://sljohnsonimages.com
