Many thanks to Katherine (Kat) Wolfram, forensic scientist, for attending our September meeting at Tailored Tea in Latham and giving us all a better understanding of DNA analysis. Among other things, we learned: what DNA can and can’t tell, samples that can be used in DNA analysis, the overall process from obtaining a sample to the 15 loci that, along with sex designation, make up a standard DNA profile.
